林梅枝 Maggie Mitchell

台灣高雄人，台北輔大家政系幼兒教育組畢業

從事四年幼教工作後，到美國進修，1993年得到Regent大學的教育碩士學位。

目前林梅枝和她的先生王天祺，以及女兒王曉睿住在美國維吉尼亞州。除了專心照顧家庭之外，她也從事中文媒體工作和兒童故事寫作。

冉瑞菁 Ran Ruei Jin

自由插畫工作者，中國文化大學美術系畢業

大四那年開始接觸插畫，畢業後專心創作兒童插畫。

在成長的過程中，我們最喜歡比較的是誰長得高、長得美、身材好、外型炫，因為這些是比較先被看到的、比較容易被注意的。但是在人與人相處的過程裡，我們會一次又一次的發現，外表其實不能代表全部，長得高大的人不一定強壯，長得美好的人不一定好相處；相反的，矮小的人不一定膽小、沒有用，外表不討好的人不見得就是討人厭的。真正成功或討人喜歡的人，在乎的是他的內心是否有許多對人有益的特質。番茄最重要的是要結果實，而身為一個人，則應該期許自己是否能討人喜歡，並對人有幫助，這才是最重要的。當你可以對身邊的人有幫助，這就表示你有優點，那麼就算你有一些缺點，你還是可以欣賞自己，覺得自己很棒。

★The Moral of TWO TOMATO PLANTS:

In the process of relating to one another, we will discover time and again that appearance does not actually represent the whole picture. The tallest and the biggest among us aren’t always the strongest, and those who look the nicest aren’t always the easiest to get along with. On the other hand, the shortest people aren’t necessarily timid or useless, and those people whose appearances aren’t that pleasant aren’t necessarily unpleasant people. The most important thing for a tomato plant is bearing fruit, and for those people who are truly successful or likable, what matters most is whether there is evidence of good character in their hearts. When you help people around you, this means you are at an advantage, so no matter whether you have some shortcomings, you can still enjoy yourself and feel good about yourself.
