★The Moral of THE MAGICIAN OF COLORS:
What can you see when you look at a flower? Some people see it from the perspective of art, some see the flower’s glamorous pose and beautiful colors, some see it from the perspective of science and nature—they see the wonderful design of the plant including the stamen and the petals. However, Da Vinci saw more than all of these. He said, “In a flower, we can see the world.”
Da Vinci did not even attend high school, instead acquiring his knowledge entirely through observation and self-study, bit by bit over time. By the age of sixty-six, Da Vinci had won numerous accolades and awards reserved for artists, mathematicians, scientists, astronomers…each one a completely different field. Nevertheless, the single commonality Da Vinci used in his long journeys through these diverse academic fields was “observation.”
Five hundred years after he passed away, the novel The Da Vinci Code brought back a kind of Da Vinci fever again. The more we know about him the more difficult he is to understand. If we try to understand this great man from his observations and determined inquisitiveness perhaps Da Vinci’s “code” won’t be that difficult to solve.
